Response

I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under section 38(1)(b) (personal data) of FOISA applies to that information.

(Query 1) North Ayrshire Council specified the removal site 546 in their 2023 VDL statistical return. This was received by the Scottish Government on 22/12/2023. I attach a copy of Excel spreadsheet called VDL Dataset B and Covering Email where the removal of site 546 is specified. And I also attach the covering email for this. You may find it useful to look at our VDL Guidance, copy also enclosed, which sets out the Scottish Government data requirements and to understand some of the column headings in dataset B.

Councils are responsible for VDL in their area and they decide which sites to include, exclude or remove. Therefore you may find it useful to contact the Council directly with any further questions you may have.

(Query 2) Site 546 was first included in the VDL statistics and register between the years of 1996 and 2000. The attached Excel file called VDL Dataset A indicates this in the column headed 'TimeVD' which is the time period when the site 546 became vacant or derelict. The enclosed VDL guidance explains each of the column headings in dataset A.
