Former Minister for Equalities, Migration and Refugees visit to Murrayfield Stadium: FOI release

Information requested

With regard to Emma Roddick’s visit to Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, on 26/8/23:

1. All details and/or minutes of discussions she had during the visit and how they related to refugees.

2. All details held regarding how Ms Roddick’s visit was arranged and who accompanied her.

I enclose a copy of all of the information you requested.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under section 38(1)(b) of FOISA applies to that information. The reason why that exemptions applies is the information relates to personal details of members of the public and Scottish Government Officials under the grade of Senior Civil Servant.

In terms of how the visit was arranged and who accompanied Ms Roddick, Scottish Rugby regularly invites Ministers to international matches. These provide a good opportunity to engage with a number of rugby stakeholders on current key issues. Invitations are sent to the Scottish Government by Scottish Rugby, and, as with any engagement invitation, officials provide advice to Ministers on potential attendance.

For the visit, Ms Roddick was accompanied by a Scottish Government official and a guest. The names of these attendees are withheld under Section 38(1)(b) (personal information).
