Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
Information requested
1. The current estimated total cost of implementing the Scottish Government’s new Oracle Cloud Platform. I mean to refer to the ‘Oracle Cloud Platform Programme’ as mentioned in Audit Scotland’s most recent annual audit report (https://audit.scot/uploads/2024-10/aar_2324_scottish_government.pdf)
2. A breakdown of the oracle cloud platform programme cost. This should include:
a. Cost by area/purpose of expense
b. Breakdown of internal and external costs (use of Scottish Government resources versus payment to third party contractors/providers of goods & services)
c. List of contracts with third parties involved in the oracle cloud platform programme, with name of contracted company, name of contract, purpose of contract, total cost to the Scottish Government of the contract, and the key dates of the contract (should include but not be limited to date agreed to, date of commencement, dates of work being done, dates of goods being provided).

Implementation costs for Oracle Cloud are currently estimated to be £58.4 million, as referenced in the Scottish Government 2023/24 Annual Audit Report by Audit Scotland. A breakdown is offered below.
