Information request and response under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004.
Information requested
Please advise if the Diebidale River (or any part thereof) has been officially registered as a stocked fishery. Please supply a copy of the registration form.
Response
As the information you have requested is ‘environmental information’ for the purposes of the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (EIRs), we are required to deal with your request under those Regulations.
On 2 August 2024 I confirmed to you by email that there are three fisheries registered with the Marine Directorate along the Diebidale River, they are:
1. Gledfield Ponds, FIS0165 (registered under the Gledfield Estate business, FIB0151)
2. Lodge Loch, FIS0686 (registered under the Glencalvie Estate business, FIB0508)
3. Diebidale Loch (Reservoir), FIS0685 (also registered under the Glencalvie Estate business, FIB0508)
I also confirmed that all three of these fisheries are registered to stock with brown trout and sea trout and advised you that I believed the fishery which you are referring to in your request was Diebidale Loch (Reservoir).
I sought further clarity on your request. I advised you that we hold an application form that the applicant used to apply for the fishery, and we have a confirmatory letter issued once registration for the fishery was granted.
On the same date you responded to clarify the following:
“I confirm that the fishery I am referring to is Diebidale Loch (this is a lochan created on the Diebidale River by a dam)...I would appreciate both a copy of the "application form that the applicant used to apply for the fishery" and a copy of the "confirmatory letter issued once registration for the fishery was granted".
