Information requested
I was wondering if you could provide me with some figures if possible, on road crashes in the north-east and in Fife?
- How many road accidents/deaths occurred in the North-east and in Fife last year?
- How many fatals have there been in the north-east and Fife in the first three months of this year?
- And how many were there in the first three months of last year?
Response
The records we hold relate to collisions where someone is injured or killed, and which become known to Police Scotland. Therefore we do not hold information on non-injury collisions.
The following tables provide information based on what is collected. Please note that the figures for 2023 and 2024 are provisional as they are based on monthly returns received thus far from Police Scotland in 2023, with the most recent returns being received on 15th April 2024. This may be an incomplete picture of casualties up to that date due to a slight lag between records processed by Police Scotland and data availability. These figures are also subject to change due to subsequent corrections and late records.
For the purposes of the figures provided, ‘the North East’ is made up of the following local authority areas: Aberdeen City; Aberdeenshire; Angus; Dundee City; and Moray.
