Current and previous versions of Information Management Policy: FOI release

Information requested

1. The Scottish Government’s current Information Management Policy and all previous iterations of the policy dating back to 1 January 2020. For clarity, please provide the policy as it stood on 1 January 2020, as it currently stands at the present date and all other versions of the policy where any changes have been made to it between those two dates.
2. How many WhatsApp messages have been transcribed or copied into an email/text document using the SCOTS platform and stored in the central corporate record since 28 March 2023.
3. Please provide all WhatsApp messages that have been entered into the SCOTS platform and are stored in the central corporate record since 28 March 2023.

For clarity, the information management policy I am referring to is the one mentioned by George Adam to Parliament on 8 December 2022. He also mentioned the SCOTS platform and central corporate record that I am referring to in my freedom of information request.

2 & 3 While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. The Scottish Government does not, as a matter of course, record the type of medium used for every communication and this is not a
requirement of our Records Management Plan.

This is a formal notice under section 17 (1)of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
