Information requested
I am looking for information namely statistics relating to road accidents in Scotland, under your statistic page:Scottish transport statisics, the chapter06-road accidents only has figures to 2014. Can you furnish me document that covers 2014 until the most recent findings.
I would also like information and statistics to 'bridge strikes' in the last 10 years for the trasport sector (HGV & BUS)- various links on your site occur'
Response
The latest version of Scottish Transport Statistics with more up-to-date statistics for chapter 6 can be found on the Transport Scotland statistics pages. However, we have just published our Reported Road Casualties Scotland publication which contains the most recent injury collision and casualty statistics. This can also be found via the Transport Scotland statistics pages.
With regards bridge strikes specifically, I have attached a spreadsheet containing the number of bridge collisions involving HGVs and Buses and coaches for the past 10 years. I would highlight that the data we have provided here only refers to collisions where someone was injured and the collision was reported to the police. If the police were not made aware of the bridge strike and/or nobody was injured then it is not included in these figures.
