Information requested

How many people vape in Edinburgh? And in Scotland?
How many underage people vape in the city? And in the country?
Are there any deaths caused, influenced or triggered by vaping?
If yes, what are the statistics in the city? And in the country?
How many people had lung injuries due to vaping in Edinburgh? And in Scotland?
Did any of these people have irreversible injuries? How many?
Did any of these people die? How many?

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. The reasons why we don’t have the information are explained in the Annex to this letter.

REASONS FOR NOT PROVIDING INFORMATION

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for. Public Health Scotland and The City of Edinburgh Council may own the information you are looking for. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
