1. The costs of overtime worked by education Scotland, skills development Scotland, colleges Scotland and SQA employees in 2021-22 and so far in 2022-23.

2. For any overtime hours detailed how many of these hours in each year did employees receive payment for and/or how many hours did they receive no compensation for?

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Education Scotland does not hold the information you have requested for all other public bodies you have mentioned, therefore this is exempt under section 17(1) of FOISA.

2. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to do so as Education Scotland does not record the information in the manner it has been requested. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that Education Scotland does not have the information as you have requested.

For further information, we can confirm we are unaware of any overtime hours that have gone unclaimed and our Human Resources and Finance departments have confirmed they do not have any reports which will give the breakdown of hours relating to paid overtime. In general, we use flexi time and time off in lieu (TOIL) for additional hours worked within Education Scotland. Overtime claims are submitted by employees and approved by the line managers electronically.
