Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

You asked what was the total spend on ICT frameworks in 2021 for the public sector? The only report you can find is for 2018, where the estimate was £811 million - Scottish government spends £800m a year on ICT, 30% with SMEs (diginomica.com)

Response

You have asked for spend on ICT Frameworks for the year 2021. However the linked report you provided in your email refers to total ICT spend for the Scottish public sector. Accordingly, the updated figure provided in the link below details total Scottish public sector ICT spend. Scottish Government Frameworks are not used for all Scottish public sector ICT spend.

I enclose a link to a recent FOI which provides updated total ICT spend information including a breakdown of spend by organisation and sector for 2020/21. ICT spend for Government bodies: FOI release - gov.scot (www.gov.scot)
