Information requested
In each of the past five years (a) how many times have government vehicles been damaged due to potholes and (b) what has been the cost of repairs?
In each of the past five years (a) how many times have government vehicles been damaged in all types of accidents and (b) what has been the cost of repairing and/or replacing them?
In each of the past five years how many times have drivers of government vehicles been issued with speeding fines?
Response
We are able to provide most of the information you have requested, however an exemption applies to one aspect of your request.
With the exception of Road Traffic Collisions we don’t record the reason why a vehicle was damaged.
This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested.
The table below details the number of times Scottish Government fleet vehicles have been damaged in Road Traffic Collisions (RTC’s) and the cost of repairs for the last 5 years.

We do not hold information on the number of times government vehicles have been issued with speeding fines as staff are personally responsible for any penalties incurred, we do however hold records on the number of occasions Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP) notices have been issued for an alleged offence. This information is provided in the table below.
