Collaborative messaging apps and non-work/social spaces: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.


Information requested

1. Do you use one or more collaborative messaging apps?

2. Please supply:

2.1. a list of names of those apps,

2.2. the total number of your employees and workers who are registered for each app.

3. Please provide a list names of public channels in those apps which are used primarily for non-work purposes / socialising among employees.

4. To the extent that these are set in the apps, please also provide the following for each channel in Q3:

4.1. Channel topic 

4.2. Channel description 

4.3. The number of members in that channel 

Response

1. Do you use one or more collaborative messaging apps?
Answer 1 - As HM Fire Service Inspectorate is hosted within the Scottish Government we utilise SG systems and therefore have access to collaborative messaging apps.

2. Please supply:
2.1. a list of names of those apps,

Answer 2.1 - Microsoft Teams

2.2. the total number of your employees and workers who are registered for each app.
Answer 2.2 - There are nine members of the team

3. Please provide a list names of public channels in those apps which are used primarily for non-work purposes / socialising among employees.
Answer 3 - HMFSI do not utilise public channels within Microsoft Teams for non-work purposes / socialising among employees.

4. To the extent that these are set in the apps, please also provide the following for each channel in Q3:
Answer 4 - Not applicable to HMFSI

4.1. Channel topic - NA

4.2. Channel description - NA

4.3. The number of members in that channel - NA.
