Access to counselling services through secondary schools per local authority: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

Any other summaries/reports compiled since September 2021 on the impact of the Government’s commitment to ensure every secondary school has access to counselling services. You also asked us to provide the most recent six monthly reports on progress submitted by each of Scotland’s 32 Councils to the Government.

Response

I attach a copy of the local authority returns for the period January – June 2022 that you requested.

Please note, figures have been redacted where there are less than 5 children or young people to ensure no young people can be identified. Where this figure could be calculated by subtracting the other figures from the total, I have redacted an additional figure.

The rest of the information you have requested is available from Access to counsellors in secondary schools and children and young people’s community mental health services – summary reports - gov.scot (www.gov.scot). Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.
