Response

1. Names and positions of all personnel who are sitting on the investigation team for the Edinburgh tram enquiry?

Response - An exemption under section(s) 38(1)b of FOISA (personal information) applies as individuals names are the personal data of a third party. We have concluded that it would breach the principles of UK data protection legislation to release this information. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption. The enquiry employs a Chairman, legal counsel and solicitors, secretary, Document and evidence managers and IT analysts.

2. Who is the person in charge / leading the enquiry?

Response - The information you have requested is available from https://www.edinburghtraminquiry.org/the-inquiry-team/. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.

3. Payments individuals sitting on the enquiry have received since it commenced?

Attached is the overall total staff costs of the enquiry by year with forecast expenditure to the end of this financial year.

4. When is the estimated conclusion to the enquiry?

Response - While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested.
