1. The number of Cabinet meetings attended by Patrick Harvie since his appointment as a Minister of the Scottish Government. Please provide the dates and reasons for his attendance.

2. The number of Cabinet meetings attended by Lorna Slater since her appointment as a Minister of the Scottish Government. Please provide the dates and reasons for her attendance.

3. In total, the number of Cabinet meetings that have taken place since the appointment of Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater as Ministers to the Scottish Government.

Response

The answers to your questions are as follows:

Questions 1 and 2: Patrick Harvie MSP and Lorna Slater MSP have both attended two Cabinet meetings, in line with the commitment in paragraph 32 of the Cooperation Agreement between the Scottish Government and the Scottish Green Party Parliamentary Group which states that "At least twice a year, the First Minister will invite the Co-Leaders of the Scottish Green Party to attend Cabinet." The Cabinet meetings they attended were on 26 April 2022 and 16 August 2022. The purpose of their attendance at Cabinet on 26 April 2022 was to review the progress made in implementing the Bute House Agreement during its first six months. The purpose of their attendance at Cabinet on 16 August 2022 was to participate in consideration of a draft of the 2022-23 Programme for Government.

Question 3: The total number of Cabinet meetings that have taken place between the appointment of Mr Harvie and Ms Slater as Ministers on 1 September 2021 and the date of your letter (17 August 2022) is 43.
