Information requested

Please advise how much public money was spent on the extensive TV campaign for the Scottish Census and what % of forms were returned, and how much income you expect to receive in £1000 fines. I would also like to know how you intend to recoup these fines?

Response

Scotland’s Census 2022 advertising campaign ran from 14 February 2022 to 27 March 2022, with a second phase from 6 April 2022 to 29 May 2022.

The total TV advertising paid-for media spend was £646,450 (gross). The production of the four TV adverts was £218,375 (gross). The total overall TV spend was therefore £864,825 (gross).
