Proposed Right to Addiction Recovery (Scotland) Bill consultation responses: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

"I would like information in relation to the recent consultation: Proposed Right to Addiction Recovery (Scotland) Bill.

  1. When and where are responses to the consultation going to be published?
  2. How many responses to the consultation document were received up to and including the closing date Wednesday 12th January 2022? (For the avoidance of doubt, this number should include responses that are deemed to be similar in content but sent from different people/organisations)."

Response

The Scottish Government does not have a role in the consultation for the Proposed Right to Addiction Recovery (Scotland) Bill as it is a proposal being brought forward by Douglas Ross MSP under the Members’ Bills process. Information about the process for Members’ Bills is available on the Scottish Parliament website at: https://www.parliament.scot/bills-and-laws/about-bills/how-a-bill-becomes-anact/ members-bill. The consultation paper indicates that the consultation is being supported by the Scottish Parliament’s Non-Government Bills Unit (NGBU). Responses received by Douglas Ross have now been published at: Right to Recovery Bill | Douglas Ross. A consultation analysis has not yet been published.
