Targets for reducing crime: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

All targets the Scottish Government has on reducing crime levels. This can be for any type of crime (i.e non-sexual crimes of violence, sexual crimes, crimes of dishonesty etc.). Please provide a comprehensive list of all these targets for different crime types or for overall crime.

Response

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for because the Scottish Government takes an outcome-based approach to performance as set out in the National Performance Framework. Progress against these outcomes is therefore measured through indicators. Outcomes and measures of success related to crime were recently updated in A Vision for Justice in Scotland. The Vision including the outcomes has been endorsed by the National Justice Board.
