Breakdown of Right to Rectification applications: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

The number of Right to Rectification applications the Scottish Government have received in the last 5 years, with a breakdown of each year.

Response

The answer to your question is:

  • 2017 – 0 (the right to rectification was included as a data subject right under the General Data Protection Regulation from May 2018)
  • 2018 - 0
  • 2019 - 1
  • 2020 - 3
  • 2021 - 0
  • 2022 (to date) – 1

As you can see we have received very few requests to rectify inaccurate personal data since 2018. Only one was taken forward - we did not hold the information required in the other cases and the people were made aware of this.
