Specific wildlife road signs on trunk road network: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

The number and location of specific wildlife road signs throughout Scotland.

Response

Your request is for the number and location of specific wildlife road signs throughout Scotland. As part of its remit as an agency of the Scottish Government, Transport Scotland is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Scottish strategic trunk road network. The agency does not have any remit, or hold any data, in relation to the local road network in Scotland. This is the responsibility of the relevant local authority who should hold records of any wildlife signs on local roads within their boundaries.

With regard to specific wildlife signs on the trunk road network, I can advise our records indicate there are 161 such signs in total located across the majority of routes. I attach an Excel spreadsheet documenting the signs categorised by road number. This also includes positioning data by Easting/Northing and Latitude/Longitude.
