Information requested

“Can you please confirm which of the promises by the SNP for the first 100 days have been completed almost 9 months later: Health and social care; Economy; Children and families; Jobs, students and schools.”

Response

Most of the information you have requested is publicly available. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed below, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.

The answer to your question is that all bar one of the commitments made pre-election by the Scottish National Party, were met by 25 August 2021. The remaining commitment was fulfilled on 23 November 2021.

The Scottish National Party’s (SNP) pre-election commitments of policies they would deliver within their first 100 days, were they to be re-elected to government, are available at the following web address.

However, the SNP are a separate entity to the Scottish Government and are not subject to FOI legislation. The following link is being provided for reference only, outwith FOISA;

This was followed by a statement to Parliament by the First Minister on 26 May 2021. Details of which can be found at the following web address;

https://www.gov.scot/publications/priorities-government-statement-26-2021/.

A news release of 25 August 2021 outlines that eighty of eighty one commitments had been met to that point. Details of which can be found at the follow web address;

https://www.gov.scot/news/100-days-commitments-delivered/.

Please note that for the purposes of internal policy development and reporting, some of the eighty three commitments outlined by the SNP were either split out into two separate commitments or in some cases, combined into one. Which resulted in an internal working list of eighty one.

The news release was followed by a statement to Parliament by the Deputy First Minister during the ‘First 100 Days Debate’ on 31 August 2021. Details of which can be found at the following web address;

https://www.gov.scot/publications/first-100-days-debate-deputy-first-ministers-statement-31-august-2021/.

Finally, the remaining commitment to “Provide mobile coverage in more remote rural and island areas with a further 14 masts going live through our S4GI Mobile Infill programme” was fulfilled on 23 November 2021 with the activation of a mobile mast in Polbain. There were no public announcements made of this.
