Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

Information regarding numbers and types of electric vehicle chargers in Scotland.

Response

I include a copy of some of the information you requested in the excel document attached. This information relates to the type of chargers broken down to Local Authority owned and not by local authority area. Charger type by local authority area is not a stat we have at the moment, however we are working on our dataset to allow us to capture more robust information. Please note some Local Authorities have both publicly and private charge points. Private charge points will be used by Local Authority vehicles only.

Some of the other information you have requested is available from the Scottish Transport Statistics Chapter 13: Environment and Emissions (transport.gov.scot). Information for 2021 is being collated at the moment and will be publish in February 2022. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.
