Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
Information requested
Breakdown of the drug offences where 746 people received custodial sentences in 2019-20. The 746 figure is provided in Table 9(a) of the Criminal Proceedings in Scotland 2019-20 data. For reference, the breakdown I am requesting is detailed in the Recorded Crime in Scotland statistics. Table A5 of the most recent annual publication breaks down recorded drug crimes by ‘illegal importation of drugs’, ‘illegal cultivation of drugs’, ‘possession of drugs with intent to supply’ ‘possession of drugs’ and ‘drugs, other offences, money laundering’. I am requesting how the 746 figure broke down into the aforementioned categories. Please provide the same breakdown of those given custodial sentences for drug crimes for all financial years since 2010-11 up to 2020-21 – or up to 2019-20 if
providing data for 2020-21 is not yet possible.
