Please provide the amount paid in fees to the following companies in the fiscal years 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/2019, 2019/20 and 2020/21 by project (naming each project):

Response

Scottish Government did not pay any fees to Teneo, BDO or Johnston Carmichael during the specified fiscal years.

Attached is a summary of the fees paid to Deloitte, Grant Thornton, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PwC in the fiscal years you have asked us to provide information for. The data has been analysed by expenditure programmes (Scottish Government's approach to project working) that support policy priorities.

Year on year increases in expenditure were driven by additional investment in key strategic priorities, including programmes to support innovation and industries, tackle fuel poverty and improve energy efficiency, establish the Scottish National Investment Bank and Social Security Scotland.
