Please supply staffing secretariat costs, the costs of any events, the cost of any publications and the cost of any research undertaken on behalf of the Scottish Tourism Recovery Taskforce

Response

There are no direct costs for the running of Scottish Tourism Recovery Taskforce. Although the group has no set budget, a range of organisations, both public/private and other, including the Taskforce members, have contributed time and resource.

In response to the Scottish Government’s request for a Tourism recovery plan, (which was to be based on the Scottish Tourism Recovery Taskforce recommendations), the Scottish Tourism Emergency Response Group (STERG) commissioned Toposophy Ltd to work with them on the development of a two year plan. Toposophy Ltd conducted an evidence base review, including a review of international best practice, as well as a programme of stakeholder engagement, all of which informed a report which was presented to STERG for consideration in the final development of STERG’s two year recovery plan recommendations. The cost for the Toposophy report was £28,560 (incl. VAT), funded by the Scottish Government and as yet remains unpublished. STERG are currently working to produce a public facing document which will provide an overview of the recovery planning process (including key outputs from the research conducted by Toposophy), the document will also outline STERG’s two year recovery recommendations, this will be published in October.
