List of public relations and media companies used by Transport Scotland: FOI release

"In excel spreadsheet form, please list any public relations, communications, media consultancy or lobbying firms hired by your organisation in the last five years:

Please provide:

• The name of the firm (or individual/freelancer)
• The contract number
• The start and end date of each contract
• The amount of money paid to each firm (including VAT)
• The remit/purpose of the hire, and detail of what activities they undertook for your organisation

For avoidance of doubt, please provide more detail than, for example, "communications and PR support". Instead, please detail what specific issues were communicated and how this was done."

Response

Transport Scotland hires public relations, communications and media consultancy firms to meet a wide range of business needs across the organisation, including communicating information about our projects to stakeholders, advertising road orders and road safety education for children. We have not identified any information relating to the hire of lobbying firms within the last five years.

The information you requested relating to spend with these firms is provided at Annex A.

The list of public relations, communications, media contracts and frameworks that Transport Scotland utilised over the period, along with start and end dates, contract numbers and suppliers engaged by Transport Scotland is included at Annex B.

In circumstances where the required service was not available through an existing contract or framework, or where the existing suppliers could not meet the delivery timeframe, services were procured directly from suppliers.
