Consultation data on Citizen Space: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

For a research project, we have analysed the case of "We asked, You said, We did" of the Scottish Government. Is it possible to have some statistics for the period from 2015 to 2020. In particular:

1) the n. of consultations closed per each year.

2) the n. of the published responses per each consultation per each year.

Response

Of those consultations published on Citizen Space, please see attached spreadsheet detailing statistics for the period from 2015 to 2020.

The statistics presented account for public consultations which were registered on the Citizen Space consultation platform by Scottish Government between 1 January 2015 and 31 December 2020.

The Citizen Space digital consultation platform was launched in 2015, and so there was a period of adjustment when Scottish Government went from obtaining responses via email and letter to obtaining responses on Citizen Space and a period of transition. Please note that some consultations were publicised on the Citizen Space platform but responses were not submitted on the platform. In these instances we have obtained the response figures from relevant policy teams to add to the document.
