Organisation and companies awarded funds from Water Futures Programme: FOI release

Information requested

This request relates to the Climate Justice: Water Futures Programme, funded by the Scottish Government and delivered through Strathclyde University. Please provide the following:

1. List of all organizations or companies that have been paid over £5,000 total from this fund (ie, suppliers, subcontractors), listing total amount paid to each to date.

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have all the information you have requested. The reasons why we don't have the information are as indicated in our answer to your similar request of 1 July 2020 (our ref 202000055012): under the terms and conditions attached to the grant of funds for the Water Futures Programme the grantees are required to keep and maintain adequate and proper records of all expenditure of monies paid to it by the Scottish Ministers by way of the Grant. We therefore do not hold all the detailed data you have requested ourselves, with the exception of the attached document. Given the Grant Terms and Conditions set out above we would normally direct you to the University of Strathclyde to obtain the full set of information requested. In this instance, I understand that you have already contacted the University of Strathclyde and that they intend to provide a response to your request.

An exemption under section s.38(1)(b) (personal information relating to a third party) of FOISA applies to the information you have requested. Personal information relating to third parties has been redacted in the document.

This exemption is not subject to the 'public interest test', so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
