Information requested

The number of woodland officers who are employed in Scottish Forestry and especially those who process woodland creation grants and appraise EIA forestry applications.

Response

We can confirm that Scottish Forestry employs Woodland officers and Assistant Woodland Officers who are all involved in the processing of woodland creation grant applications and the appraisal of EIA forestry applications.

As at 1 April 2021, Scottish Forestry employed 31 Woodland Officers (equating to 29.03 Full Time Equivalents) and 14 Assistant Woodland Officers (Equating to 11 FTE).
