COVID-19 hotel quarantine: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

Information on the number of people who have entered Scotland that have stayed in hotel quarantine; and the number of positive cases identified by testing on day 2 and day 8 of quarantine.

Response

Number of people in Managed Isolation between introduction and request date: 515 people entered managed quarantine facilities in Scotland since the introduction of managed isolation on the 15 February 2021 until the 14 March 2021.

Number of positive cases identified by testing on day 2 and day 8 of quarantine: arrangements for managed isolation and testing are procured and managed at a UK Government level for reasons of efficiency.

The UK Government is therefore the responsible body for this data and does not currently publish it in a way that answers the question posed. This information is not currently held by Scottish Government and we would recommend you request this information from the UK Department of Health and Social Care.

In the absence of any UK publication, Public Health Scotland is considering what it might be able to publish in the coming weeks based on available data. This will be incorporated in the Public Health Scotland weekly COVID report, and will be pre-announced in due course.
