Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002


Information requested

Copies of advice given to Ministers on the safety of holding the Scottish Parliament election in May as planned, during the Coronavirus pandemic. The request should cover communications sent after 23 December 2020.

Response

I attach a copy of material that we consider releasable within the terms of your request. There are also 4 documents marked as Annexes:

  • Annex A - this Timeline document represents the key dates in the lead up to the election.
  • Annexes B and C – contain letters from and to UNISON
  • Annex D – this document is a summary of key measures and contains hyperlinks to a number of external sources of information, such as Directions and other material published by the Convener of the Electoral Management Board for Scotland and guidance published by the Electoral Commission in relation to the running of the election. That EMB and Commission information is considered to be otherwise accessible in terms of section 25 of FOISA.
