Information requested
Can you let me know if any arrangements are in place to roll out a Covid-19 / Flu vaccine program?
Also, will there be parental consent before any such program?
Response
Seasonal Flu
The Scottish Government has delivered a national seasonal Flu vaccine program during which the school programme included a consent letter for eligible children.
COVID-19
The Scottish Government have arrangements in place to carry out a national Covid-19 vaccine program. Vaccination started on the 8th December protecting the most vulnerable groups identified by The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) who advise UK health departments on immunisation. In accordance with JCVI guidance the Scottish Government have no plans at present to vaccinate citizens under 16 years old; therefore parental consent is not required.
