Correspondence received by First Minister between June 2020 and November 2020: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

Copies of correspondence received by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon MSP regarding the Children (Equal Protection from Assault) (Scotland) Act 2019 between 01 June 2020 and 11 November 2020.

Response

Attached in the Annex is a copy of most of the information you requested.

Please note that we have treated correspondence addressed to "Nicola Sturgeon", the First Minister", the "Scottish Ministers" and the "Scottish Government" as being within the scope of your request.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under section 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information.

This applies because some of the information you have requested is personal information relating to third parties (names and email addresses). This exemption is not subject to the 'public interest test', so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
