Response

1. The source of the data referred to in your request is based on school leaver attainment for five or more passes at SCQF Level 6 or better. This includes Highers and Advanced Highers but also contains other SQA qualifications available to young people at SCQF Level 6 or better. The attainment data provided in the attached table is based on the same approach.

2. The Scottish Government do not hold information on young people entered into University from school. The school leavers destinations dataset provides information school leavers entering into Higher Education. We have provided the percentage of school leavers who went into Higher Education. Higher Education includes leavers following HND (Higher National Diploma) or HNC (Higher National Certificate) courses, degree courses, courses for the education and training of teachers and higher level courses for professional qualifications.
