The Scottish Government process of publishing FOI responses: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

In order to clarify the strange apparent invisibility of several documents to the search engine - all of which, by a remarkable coincidence, relate to allegations of misconduct by the former First Minister Alex Salmond - please provide me with the search tags which have been attached to each of these 16 documents: (listed in the attachment to this response).

Response

I enclose a copy of all of the information you requested.

A number of staff are involved in the process of publishing FOI responses. There is no specific, preset way in which the search tags must be entered - this is entirely down to the individual Publishing Officer to identify and input a suitable amount, hence the range. It is not normal procedure to include names of individuals in these search tags, however in some instances the name of the individual who is the subject of the request may be included.

You will note that we could not identify any search tags associated with foi-19-00158. We do not know why this is the case, but will edit the entry to add a set.
