Senior Scottish Government staff communication applications: FOI release

Please could you supply a list of all communication apps (e.g. WhatsApp) downloaded onto the smartphones of

1. First Minister
2. First Minister's Private Secretary
3. First Minister's Chief of Staff (a special adviser)
4. Head of Communications & Senior Political Spokesperson for the FM (a special adviser)

The answer to your request is as follows:
The First Minister does not hold a Scottish Government issued smartphone.

With regards to the First Minister's Private Secretary, First Minister's Chief of Staff and the Head of Communications & Senior Political Spokesperson, the only communication app downloaded to their Scottish Government issued smartphone is Blackberry Work. It may be helpful to explain that this app is required to securely access their Scottish Government email.
