Statistics relating to FOI requests raised: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

For all FOI requests raised in the last 48 months can you please provide data on all FOI requests including:

  • FOI reference
  • Date Request Made
  • Date Request Answered
  • Number of each type of exemption which have been applied (including exemption Section (para) (clause))

Response

For the purposes of responding to this request I have assumed that the term 'FOI request' refers both to requests responded to under FOISA and requests responded to under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (EIRs).

Please find attached a report. The first tab details the reference numbers and the date received of all FOI/EIR cases processed on our case management system. This is for the period of 21 July 2016 to the date of your request, 21 July 2020. You’ll note that I have applied s.17(1) to the date the request was answered up until row 9956. At that time the Scottish Government fully transitioned to a new case management system for the handling of correspondence and formal information requests. No business need was identified to retain information relating to the date a historical request was responded to, so that was not transitioned and so we do not hold that information. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested.

The second tab details the number of exemptions and exceptions that were applied to those cases covered by your request.
