Scottish Infected Blood Support Scheme (SIBSS) parity: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

How many discussions have taken place in 2020 with Cabinet Office officials?
What date/s did they take place?
What obstacles have Cabinet Office officials identified in not being able to implement financial parity?

Response

Given that you asked this as a follow up to your previous request, we have assumed that you are only interested in Scottish Government meetings with the Cabinet Office in relation to infected blood. The answer to your question is that the Scottish Government has met Cabinet Office and the other UK administrations on eight occasions on the following dates:

8 January 2020;
12 February 2020;
4 March 2020;
8 April 2020;
6 May 2020;
3 June 2020;
1 July 2020; and
29 July 2020

We do not have any written record of Cabinet Office officials identifying obstacles in not being able to implement financial parity, although in March the Cabinet Office indicated that at that time progress on actions from the meeting had been delayed somewhat due to the sponsoring Minister for the Inquiry not yet being confirmed.
