Single use plastic purchases: FOI release

Information requested

I. How many bin liners were purchased and used by this organisation in each of the 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 financial years.
In relation to above, how many of the purchased bin liners were biodegradable.

II. How many plastic cups were purchased and used by this organisation in each of the 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 financial years .

III. How much bubble wrap was purchased and used by this organisation in each of the 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 financial years .

IV. How many units of bottled water were purchased and used by this organisation in each of the 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 financial years .

V. How many disposable drinks cups, such as coffee cups, were purchased and used by this organisation in each of the 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 financial years

VI. Does this organisation have an record of all the single use plastic purchased and used by it in each of the 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 financial years, if so could it be sent over.

I, II - The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for because the Scottish Government is not responsible for the purchase of the items. Our facilities management supplier,
Mitie, are responsible for purchasing these items.
This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

IV, V :- The information on bottled water sold in Scottish Government staff Restaurants and single use hot drinks cups used is attached. From 4th June 2018 single use hot drink cups were removed from
our staff restaurants.
