Information requested
You asked:
1. Can you tell me if over the period each full financial year in the period 2014/15 to the present time (December 2019) government funds have been made available to the Police Service of Scotland, either directly or indirectly, to fund the development of the Police Scotland Youth Volunteers.
2. If so, for each full financial year in the period January 2014/15 to the present time (December 2019), the budget it was provided from and the authorizing officer with accountability for spend against that budget, how much money was provided, and
3. if there were any stipulations or conditions attached to its use, or any stipulations or conditions attached to the use of any parts of the total sum.
Response
1. Can you tell me if over the period each full financial year in the period 2014/15 to the present time (December 2019) government funds have been made available to the Police Service of Scotland, either directly or indirectly, to fund the development of the Police Scotland Youth Volunteers.
The Scottish Government has provided funding, via Young Scot, for the creation, development and operation of Police Scotland Youth Volunteers for each of the financial years requested. Through the establishment of a national partnership unit, the origins of this funding was to enable Police Scotland to have greater engagement with young people.
2. If so, for each full financial year in the period January 2014/15 to the present time (December 2019), the budget it was provided from and the authorizing officer with accountability for spend against that budget, how much money was provided.

a) - The Grant Offer Letter for 2013/2014 & 2014/2015 shows that £253,000 was paid, allocation of grant funding to be used was £123,000 to fund the Youth Volunteers Programme and £130,000 to contribute towards the Youth Voice, Communications & Rewards Programme, which is not related to PSYV.
b) - The Grant Offer Letter for 2015/2016 shows that £184,750 was paid, allocation of grant funding to be used was £118,000 to fund the Youth Volunteers Programme and £66,750 to contribute towards the Youth Voice, Communications & Rewards Programme, which is not related to PSYV.
3. If there were any stipulations or conditions attached to its use, or any stipulations or conditions attached to the use of any parts of the total sum.
