Information requested
You asked the following questions:-
a) Whether the Scottish Government is still funding Mountain Rescue teams in Scotland in 2019, whether it plans to continue and how much the funding is.
b) How much each of the following mountain rescue teams received in 2017 and 2018:
1 Killin Mountain rescue team
2 Ochills Mountain rescue team
3 Lomond Mountain rescue team.
Response
The information you requested is provided below:
a) Scottish Government provided Scottish Mountain Rescue (SMR) a grant of £312,000 for the financial year 2019/20 for the established volunteer mountain rescue teams who deploy on behalf of Police Scotland. This grant is very likely to continue in future years.
b) The mountain rescue teams you listed received the amounts shown in the table below, for the years requested:
