The £150 meal allowance your request relates to was included in the transparency data proactively released by Scottish Government. The figure relates to a working dinner to discuss Justice matters in Scotland with
opposition spokespeople, provided as official hospitality by Scottish Government.

Providing alcohol at government expense is allowed when official hospitality is at a restaurant or reception, where a modest amount of alcohol can be provided in line with the Scottish Government policy on alcohol. The Cabinet Secretary for Justice does not consume alcohol, and in this instance an individual guest covered the cost of the three alcohol items (£13.50).
