Portraits of the Queen in Scottish Government buildings: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.


Information requested

I would be grateful if you could inform me how many portraits of the Queen are presently hanging in a) the Scottish Parliament and b) Bute House. I would also be grateful to know this information for St Andrews House as well.

  • Scottish Parliament: Scottish Government does not hold information relating to pictures of Her Majesty The Queen hanging in the parliament. Please contact them direct via this link https://www.parliament.scot/abouttheparliament/31541.aspx to submit your question to a Scottish Parliament team who will be able to respond to your request.
  • Bute House: there are no portraits of Her Majesty The Queen currently hanging in Bute House.
  • St Andrews House: Scottish Government does not hold any information or listings which record a portrait of Her Majesty The Queen currently hanging in St Andrew’s House, however, I can confirm that there is a photographic portrait of Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip dated 1993 in the visitor reception area of St Andrew’s House.
