1. How many cases both over summary and solemn procedure in Scotland have been deserted simpliciter each year, for the last five years, and how many at each level, please?
2. Can this be separated in to the nature of crimes i.e assault, possession of a weapon, drugs?
3. Also, what is currently the youngest accused person currently facing court proceedings in Scotland and what are they charged with?
Response
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. The reasons why we don't have the information are explained below.
The answer to questions 1 & 2 is provided in the attached excel workbook by financial year for the period 2013-14 to 2017-18.
Please note that our data is provided by number of people prosecuted rather than number of cases prosecuted.
We are unable to answer question 3 as our Criminal Proceedings database only contains information on completed court proceedings.
