Disclosure Scotland data incident records: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

You asked for:

GDPR and data breaches by Disclosure Scotland in the last year, broken down by date, the type of breach and the severity.

Response

I enclose a copy of all of the information you requested in the format you asked for.

Disclosure Scotland as part of the Scottish Government take data security seriously with all staff required to undertake annual mandatory training. This training is supplemented through the year by a programme of security awareness communications, training and events.

Should an incident occur, an incident management process is in place which includes making every effort to contact individuals involved and apologising for the error, where appropriate.

All incidents are thoroughly investigated and, where appropriate, changes are made to mitigate the risk of a similar incident.
