Further to recent GERS 2019 figure can Scottish government confirm if they agree with monies spent per head and current deficit or figure on monies spent per head and deficit if they disagree.

Response

Information on revenue and expenditure for Scotland is set out in the Scottish Government’s Government Expenditure & Revenue Scotland (GERS) 2018-19 publication. As set out in Tables S.4 and S.6 respectively, Scotland’s revenue per person 2018-19 was £11,531 and expenditure per person was £13,854. GERS does not present figures for deficit per person.

GERS is published by the Scottish Government’s Chief Statistician. It is a National Statistics publication, which means that it has been independently assessed by the Office for Statistics Regulation and the statistics have been found to be of high quality and public value.
