You asked for the following information on the DipHE Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI):

• Does Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) consider the course as an SQA qualification or a Qualification of Higher Education?
• Does SAAS consider the course as a HND or a DipHE for funding purposes?
• Is the DipHE labelled as an HND on the SAAS database or as a DipHE? Please provide a copy of the database entry.
• If SAAS considers the course an HND, please provide evidence of the reasons for this.

Response

• Does Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) consider the course as an SQA qualification or a Qualification of Higher Education? Does SAAS consider the course as a HND or a DipHE for funding purposes?

The course is a Higher Education Qualification that sits at SCQF level 8 on the framework. It is funded by SAAS as a DipHE.  HND and DipHE are exactly the same on the framework in terms that they both sit at level 8.

• Is the DipHE labelled as an HND on the SAAS database or as a DipHE? Please provide a copy of the database entry.

SAAS have received the above information from UHI in relation to the course and therefore consider it a Diploma of Higher Education qualification.
