Disclosure Scotland properties staff car parking questions: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

  1. The number of car parking spaces you have for your employees at all your properties, and the location of said properties.
  2. If your employees have completed a staff travel survey which includes questions on the method of transport used to get to their place of work, and if so, when.
  3. If yes to Q2, what percentage of staff said they used a car as their primary method of transport to work.

Response

Q1 – Disclosure Scotland has 28 allocated car park spaces.  At present 11 of these spaces are given priority to blue badge holders. The spaces are located at Disclosure Scotland’s office at 1, Pacific Quay, Glasgow.

Q2 – Disclosure Scotland last carried out a staff travel survey in 2010.  Only 24% of staff responded to the survey.

Q3 – The survey showed that 56% of journeys were made by car, taxi or motorcycle and 44% were made using public transport, cycling or walking. Back in 2010 car drivers indicated that driving was more reliable and quicker than using public transport. Respondents also indicated that the location of Disclosure Scotland influences their choice of travel and a more direct, frequent and reliable public transport service would make this a more viable option.
