Ministers in acting ministerial posts in June 2019: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

You asked the Scottish Government to confirm:

  • How many Ministers are in Acting Minister Posts in June 2019?
  • How many Ministers in Acting Posts were made permanent in those posts?
  • How many Ministers remits have been extended in the past two years?
  • How many Ministers remits have been changed in the last two years?

Response

As regards your first two questions, I can confirm that no Ministers were in acting ministerial posts in June 2019 and that no Minister serving as an acting Minister has ever been made permanent in those posts.

Turning to your final two questions I consider that information you have requested is available from the Scottish Government website, accessible via the following link: (https://www.gov.scot/). Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you.  However for ease of reference I offer below a series of links to Scottish Government news releases setting out details of the changes made by the First Minister to her ministerial team in June 2018. The content of those news releases cover in full any matters falling within the scope of your request.
