Further to our email of 4 July 2019, I have now completed my review of our response to your request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) in which you asked:
How much each keynote speaker (not working for Education Scotland) will be paid at the Scottish Learning Festival 2019?
In your review request, you queried the following:
A review of the decision not to disclose the fee and travel and accommodation costs to be paid to Jaz Ampaw Farr.
You believe that the public interest outweighs the commercial interests of Jaz Ampaw Farr.
I have concluded that a different decision should be submitted.
In conducting my review I considered it necessary to consult with Ms Ampaw-Farr as set out in Section 7.2 of the Section 60 Code of Practice.
Taking account of the views of Ms Ampaw-Farr and the points you raised in your request for review, I have determined that the information requested can now be disclosed.
Jaz Ampaw-Farr’s fee for speaking at the Scottish Learning Festival is £3,000 plus VAT. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed up to a maximum of £550 which will be billed after the event.
